Abstract
Twelve insecticides were tested for remedial efficacy against Dendroctonus frontalis Zimmermann. All of them except carbophenothion were at least as effective as the recommended insecticide, lindane. At 1 and 2%, chlorpyrifos, chlorpyrifos-methyl, fenitrothion, pirimiphos-ethyl, etrimphos, and a microencapsulated formulation of phosmet were significantly better than lindane at the registered dose.
