AB Report on the validation of urban and suburban forest exploitation for housing development purpose.This report was asked by a private developer. The aims were: To establish the actual tendancy; to assemble all informations and data concerning previous experiences; to analyze all limitatives factors occurring after a development; to identify arboriculture work to be performed on the remaining trees; to compare the value of a forest tree vs. ornamental tree and to formulate recommendations.All chapters were developed on a scientific approach based mostly on the informations already available from the I.S.A. Annual Convention proceedings. (1951, 1956, 1960, 1963 and 1964) In a sense nothing new is disclosed but for the french speaking persons in Quebec who did not have the chance to refer to scientific sources in their own language, it is something new. It is also a pledge in favor of keeping urban and suburban forest as green spaces for the benefit of an entire population instead of loosing it on a basis of money making for a small group.
