AB Guidelines are given for reducing damage to trees from installing underground utility lines, making road and grade cuts and fills, and constructing home developments. Observations and experience, especially in supervising construction that affected trees on rights-of-way in Maryland, and the available literature provide the basis for the guidelines. Case histories are cited illustrating a range from no apparent injury to extensive damage.
