After one year, there is a 100% survival rate for the trees donated by BG&E. BG&E will be removing approximately 50 more trees this fall and replacing them with serviceberry cultivars. The trees were obtained through the Municipal Tree Restoration Program based at Penn State University. The involvement of communities working with local utilities, the Maryland Forest, Park and Wildlife Service, and local governments render these types of projects invaluable.
