YR 1991 UL http://auf.isa-arbor.com/content/17/9/250.abstract AB The California Tree Failure Report Program was established in 1987 to collect quantitative information about urban tree failures. This information is used to develop “failure profiles” for genera and species to more accurately assess failure probability in standing trees. Over 100 tree care professionals are cooperating in this effort by systematically inspecting fallen trees, or tree parts, and reporting results for entry into a data-base program. After 3 years, we have collected 500 reports and are beginning to identify failure occurrences and trends for certain taxa.
